"A MOPAR FOR EVERY MOOD"
Well, I though since I have not been posting in a while, that I would remidy that with some fresh pics of what the kid and I did a few weeks ago. I still have a lot to do on the car but it was a 10 year restoration in the making.
Enjoy the pics and if you look close, you can see that the radio antenna is moved to the pass side rear quarter panel. Thats because I used a rear AAR quarter panel off of a dead panther pink AAR that was aparently totaled in washington state, to replace my beat up quarter panel. I actually think it looks a LOT better. However, the purists:hail: have informed me that it WRONG as if i didnt know. I believe that there are now a LOT of guys who just buy finished cars that are all done like buying a new car. They do nothing if anything on their car and are still learning their car when they go toshows and start learning. Then they want to tell you how much they know about their new found hobby called "Barret Jackson mopar" and how they used to be into playing cricket or buying Porches or something. And now they have all this new found mopar knowledge and believe that the guy parked next to them in the red convert cuda is the same kinda guynaughty: ) and they have to expell their new knowledge. You just listen to learn the new breed and pick up what you can, all the while thinking you must run away [smilie=g: at any moment.
WHOOPS, there I go again. In any case, these pics are from a local show where several of my buddies were seeking trophies. Its a small car show and is in my neighborhood. The first think I overheard the judges say was, THATS AN AFTERMARKET HOOD, THOSE DIDNT COME ON THOSE BARRACUDAS")as they oooked at my shaker hood and knew I was in trouble. He was wearing a John Deer hat and they had announced that they needed some judges to volunteer for the car show portion. This show has tractor show, skeet shooting and a lot of local redneck stuff, which I tend to like.
I explained although this car is a clone, that the shaker hood was an original option and that this hood is a real shaker hood.
I paid $7800 for this car when I bought it. Its originally a 318 Grand couple vert. I bought it 11 years or so agao and started building a clone when it was a new thing to try and do. I became less interested in the car when the rage hit and it sat for years/ almost finished. then last year I repainted the PPG paint job that was a few years old and had never seen daylight with a nicer STANDOX paint job, which is a lot nicer job. I tok out the all red interior I had in it and did this legendary inlaid stuff, which looks nicer. Next I am taking out all the original rally dash garbage and installing new guages so they read and look nice.
I am now working on my 68 RR. I still need a few things for the vert but its OK for now.
