Rape of a child? That is what he pleaded down too? What was the original charge? If thats the case, fuck him!

i was thinking for some reason it had something to do with his old job and taking info or something... not that sick shit.... gotta go with piggy on this one.... sorry i brought this thread up guys...

when he shows up then what. i know when he talked to me he was all over the place. but he seemed to settle down after awhile. so he is doing his time . where does he go from there. i know he says that this forum seems like family to him. so what do we do. ??????

I don't know what the original charge was, but to plead to that makes me think it was pretty bad.
This means that someone at the Department of Corrections, and not a judge, will decide if you remain in prison for life. Since 1998, when this type of sentencing began, only one person has been released from prison, even though many have completed the lower limit of their sentence (for example, 4 years in a "4 years to life" sentence).
Does Colorado have a capital punishment (execution) system? One would think that copping to a life sentence would only be reasonable if that was the alternative.

If he is guilty of raping a child (now I said if) I don't care where he goes from there, straight to hell for all I care. He is not a victim but the predator, I have no sympathy whats so ever. I get tired of hearing on the news about how the criminal is really the victim because of their hard life. Tough shit, life is a bitch. Nobody forces anyone to be a rapist, thats the choice they made.
I despise anyone that hurts children.

Well, Colorado does have capital punishment... so one has to wonder.

Now, not to diminsh what he apparently did, but there are exceptions or circumstances in some cases that, while the person is guilty in the strictest letter of the law, make the case a little hinky. And remember, in virtually every state, a "child" is defined as anyone under the legal age of consent... including a girl one day shy of being 18. So let's not be too quick to judge.

Anyhow, I'll give you a perfect example: A guy with whom I went to grade school was out at the bar one Friday night. This is a local nightclub that demands ID at the door, and no one under 21 is allowed in after 9PM on weekends. So, he's bopping around pretty-well snockered up and he meets this gal... they start to talk. She's pretty hammered herself, and one thing leads to another. They go home together and have sex.

No big deal, right? Wrong. Turns out she's 15! That's right, the next morning she's regretful of what happened, so she goes to Mom and says this guy took advantage of her. He gets charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct, 1st degree, rape of a child (anyone under 18 at the time was considered a "child" by the law--the age of consent in WI has since been lowered to, I believe, 16). His defense? "I was in a bar. They card at the door, so anyone inside should be well over legal age." The prosecutor's rebuttal: "You should have checked; mistakes get made." When was the last time you carded a one-night stand? I never have.

He's still in prison right now on this charge. Yes, what he did was wrong but he did not knowingly make the decision. It's costing him years in prison and adds the stigma of being on the CSC offender's list for the rest of his life.

While this guy was never my friend, I still think he got a bullshit deal. I'm not saying he should have gotten off scot-free, but I think they could have worked something out a little less harsh.

Oh, and how did this pretty young thing find her way into the bar? When asked for ID, she showed the doorman her breasts... and he let her inside.

I don't know him, but I'm going with Jass on this one. We don't know the true circumstances.

I'm also aware of a kid that had sex with his 17 year old g/f the day after he turned 18 (they had dated for 1 1/2 years).

Two days later, she got pissed at him over unrelated things, broke up with him and then called the cops on him saying he raped her. Since he was now 18 it's a felony and he is to this day in prison serving a 4 year sentence for rape of a minor.

The rest of his life will be spent with "child molester" on his record. "sad" doesn't even cover it. His mother now spends her weekends visiting her 19 year old son in prison. :(

By the way, he had never, EVER been in any sort of trouble with the law (not even so much as a speeding ticket), and was actually a A and B student - involved in sports and the student council at his school.

I'm too lazy to dig for the post, but Wild Bill was set to fight the original charges. He stated he was not guilty in the slightest. Until the very end, no plea deal was ever offered. When the plea deal finally was offered, Bill had a short time to grab the deal. Although Bill insisted he was innocent, if he was found guilty, he would probably die in prison, the time to be served was so high. The guilty plea gets him out in 18 months and his time is served in jail, not prison. He's been in jail before, and knew he could do the short time no problem. The fight to beat the charges was draining all of his (and his family's) funds, so he gave in and took the plea.

That said, I don't know the details of the original charge. For some reason, I believe Bill's version was something like: "Somebody who doesn't like me talked their kid into saying I touched them." That's what I recall, but I could EASILY be incorrect in the actual charge and Bill's version of whats going on. Hell, that just might be what I infered from what Bill said. I'm not going to judge Bill until he's able to tell his side, without fear of saying the wrong thing and making things worse for himself.

Yeah, I got the sense that he was rail roaded into things. I can't defend him nor condemn him because I just don't know the truth.

The thought of this being related to his study of druidism came to mind, but I don't think he ever brought that up. I wondered if he was just present when someone else did something. That's just me pondering the possibilities though.

I can see fighting for the 18 year old in that situation ( given that the initial act was consentual). On the other hand, at 50 years old one should know better... "she said she was 18" is no excuse, at that point the age difference alone should be a deterrent. I don't know the circumstances here, but taking a plea with only a minimum, and open ended maximum sentence seems like a bad roll of the dice. What I mean by that is in the quote I posted above regarding the charge and sentence he got. If convicted he was looking at life, and with this sentence he still might be. I guess we'll wait and see what the third side of the story is...

Please don't mistake my post for sticking up for anyone that is a child molester... there is nothing lower in my mind. Like I said, I don't know him (at all) or the circumstances, I just hate to see judgement passed without the all of the facts. That was my only point in this.

I'll stay out of it now. :)

Nah, we hear yah Adam....
You know, I have been way to close to situations like this on a number of occasions. I find the media and such skews things in such twisted ways, I know longer believe a thing they say. Too often do people get manipulated by the press and even people who wish to damage others by scarring their reputations on a mere whim or revenge attack. People are scum.....I really want to believe that Bill did not do wrong, but I will never know...none of us will, only Bill.

The real shame of this type of thing is it doesn't what the reality is, it only matters that someone said it. Even if someone is found innocent the seeds of doubt are already planted.

I won't normally toss another 'nut under a bus, but I can't help but feel that Bill fits the profile of a predator. If you go back & read his posts since the problems began to become public information, there's numerous references to losing computer priviledges due to peeking at women on the net, and admittance of being a titty bar addict. This type of behavior very often escalates, and becomes a much more malevolent behavior. I don't personally know if Bill is guilty, but he does fit the profile, and having read his posts regarding his behavior patterns, I have a hard time seeing him as a victim. For some reason, I just always got the feeling of B.S. from the guy. Sorry, don't miss him. *waits for lynch mob*:shifty:
