I have a buddy who moved a couple of years ago. He left behind a 67 Dart convertible and a 70 Barracuda. he called me today and said, "you want a free 67 dart convertible?"

Of course I said yes. They are parked at his mother's house and she wants them both gone.

Here is the catch. He started cutting this car(somehow) to make it a tilt front end[smilie=2: years ago. I have seen the car according to him 10 years ago but dont remember it, so it may be junk!!!. So this could be a total nightmare, but FREE IF FREE:dance: . So I am hoping to stop by tomorrow and see it and take a few pics of it and the barracuda, which I am trying to buy if its not too expensive.

How bad can it be if it was being made into a tilt front end??????. I didnt ask a lot of questions I should have asked. It has a title as does the 70 Barracuda, which is a 318, console shift. Needs lower quarters on it.

Cant wait to see it and hope to bring it home friday afternoon.

Now, you will all have to tune in and wait and see my score, which may end up being a bunch of parts as he stated it was "ALL APART">>>>>>>>.

OK, SO I checked it out today and here it is. Its not a 67, its a 66. I thought it was too good to be truc but I am happy in any case. ITS FREE, cant argue with that it has a tilt front end and its an original 4 speed car thats now missing its dash and motor and trans. I ahve a nice running 318 and even have a non running 273 commando motor.

So, whats ya think- would you build it like it is and save $$$$, keep the tilt, or find parts. or what color, ect, ect, ect. Will a late mod A body 4 speed work, or are these different?

Dave
enjoy the pics. It has a 440 sitting in the engine bay right now, not bolted in, just sitting.

DAMN! Lucky guy!

Tilt front end? Maybe just cut inner fenders and some stuff up front?
Might not be too bad at all.

Hope it works out good for ya.

Yeah that sounds reasonable. I am closer and can actually spell Barracuda so I deserve to be the car hauler off guy :bravo:

awhile back i was chastising my mom for paying the landfill to take a load of her junk. In passing I mentioned steel is about 100 bucks a ton, A few seconds pass and she asked "how much do cars weigh?" There's only 1 left there but my sister in law is starting in on my shit at their place now too.

Sounds like a good score, can't beat the price. :bravo:

A factory 4 gear ragtop for zero dinero. Some guys get all the luck.

Because the original drivetrain is gone I'd say it's fair game for whatever flops your mop.

Now what would I do?:hmmm:

Personally I'd keep the flip nose. I'm with 68, put whatever you want in it...hell it is a custom now right? ;) As for paint I'd avoid anything dark...hides body lines:doubt:

id proly keep the flip but DEFINTALY reinforce the front rails with some ties from the firewall ocross the shock towers and down to the front of the rails

Is that body as solid and straight as it looks? Great score. Do whatever trips your trigger, you still won't meet one just like it on the street. :bravo:

Dave, how will you ever decide what to do up if you don't quit taking everything your given or can buy cheap?
We need to call you the "Nevada Mopar_Jamie"!!

Got any reasonably priced A bodies for sale?
I should know that answer already.

Funny how you told me "There's nothing left sitting around out here", yet you don't seem to have a hard time coming up with it "for yourself"?

Mark.

WOW , LUCKY YOU DOG. :bravo:

The tilt front is cool. Love to do that to my front end. Can you get a few up-close pics of the hinges.

Love the tilt! That would be a great shell to do up with a new hemi and 6-speed... find a crashed "Charger" (the 4-door Magnum they are selling these days) and modify as much of the interior to fit...that would be AWESOME. Pale yellow with a copper interior and a black top....I'm getting wood...

Wow...A Barrcuda...who makes those? lol I haven't had a chance to hit the pipe today so my spelling should be a little better...lol

And also... no fair! You guys get all the cool finds up north... best I can hope for is a Volare or the odd C-barge.
