ron. what spark plug recomondation do you suggest for my 440?

what plug & # are you other guys running

greg

Hey Greg, the champion J11y is what you should be running in that motor. The 14's are too hot, especially with that high octane juice. I like ngk's myself....have the shop cross the champion to an ngk equivelant and go for that.

With the msd you'll be able to open the gap up to .045-.050....those things are like arc welders ! [smilie=2:

You and your MSD ignitions. Ronny wouldn't work on the car with a Mallory system. [smilie=e: I have to sell my new mallory for a MSD. All things said, MSD works great!

i installed my 6AL & MP distributer tonight. fired it up & set timing by ear. seems to have quite a snap response to the throttle. i also got my slicks & skinnys mounted on the rims.

I think "Adirondack Ron"'s been working some heavy long shifts lately, haven't connected with him much the last week or so,,,either that, or he's been resting ,weary from his trips to NY,VT & CT.

It's not that mallory is a bad product...msd is just better, inmo. The mallory distributors are suspect as well. I seem to remember you trying the mallory stuff with no success....couldn't get any spark if i remember correctly. [smilie=e:

Stock recurved distributor and MSD 6 always seems to work great, from my experience. The MP Chrome box also works quite well, but cold starting and idle are always improved with the MSD, especially with hot cams. [smilie=e:

Well, thats not surprising. Good stuff Greg ! Have fun at da 'ville this w/e and post some results. I'm locked down for a 24hr shift on sunday but i'll check in here....

Ron

Ps. Found an online site that crossreferences plugs. the j11y is an NGK R5670-6. It is also a v-groove "performance" plug.

Autolite's or leave it on the trailer!............lol,,just kidding!...........,Greg,not sure,we can still do it, if guy's want to rallye it together,It's ok to have it here,,,

i'll make it if its a go, or i'll just play with cuda.

ryan did some work on cuda today for me. installed all the new wheels, replaced a left rear wheel seal, new plugs & an oil change. tomorrow some front end work & an alignment.

Hey Gang
Still workin on the Coronet!
Should be rolling on it's new suspension by next wednesday, then it's motor time.

Greg
The NGK XR5's are what i used. Never had any problems with them. Can't say the same about the champs!
