It's good to be back.....
Now that the car show is overwith I now have time to sit and relax. :)

The 'Classy Chassis For Autism' show-n-shine was a big hit! Although there weren't as many participants, we raised just over $1100.00! That's between donations, selling artwork and t-shirts. You have a different perspective when you're behind the action. I did get a chance to go out and meet a few people while taking pictures. Handing out the awards was fun. The look on people's faces makes it worth while. :)

Here are a few pictures to share with you:

Great! I'm glad you had a good time. :)
It might be hard in the setting you were working with, but a show I went to last month had an auction and they raised almost 6k. You can hit up all the local businesses for freebie stuff they can't get rid of otherwise. Business deduction for them and a carrot to dangle for you and your charity. I know I overpaid for a few things all in the spirit. :)

How'd I miss this?

Great stuff, Liz. Total success for a first time and it's only going to get better next time because you've got the experience and insight now.

Great job.

Right on Liz...glad everything went smooth and like DCF said next year will be bigger and better.... :2thumbs:

Thanks guys! It was a lot of fun and good experience. :) I now realize if I'm going to be doing this I'll have to learn more than just mopar stuff! LOL I feel bad when some guy is talking to me about chevy this, & ford that pretending I know what he's talking about. :D Ah, the spirit of all things...it was nice meeting new people, particularly meeting parents with other autistic children. There were a family of 6 which 2 sets of twins all were on the autism spectrum. My heart really went out to them....

I'm already thinking what I'd like to do for next year. I'm contemplating on asking an airbrush artist and a pinstriper set up booths at the show. The staff liked the idea, one said he'd have his harley striped. It's hard to say how well that would turn out because Deary is such a small town. I can see it being popular in a bigger city. Who knows....:)

Thanks for the nice compliments! Hope you all have a good weekend.

-Liz

Get a subscription to Hot Rod magazine...I got one through my daughters school magazine subscription drive a couple years ago and have kept it renewed since then...I quite enjoy reading about more than just mopar stuff....:shifty::)
