I'm just sittin here wasting time.. and
i have kind of a weird request here.... im buying a trailduster and i cant find a single pic of a 2wd TD on the web.... nor can i find any info meaning production numbers and such.... can anyone help? it would be greatly appreciated....

thanks

ehhh figures they're all 4x4's.... the one im gettin is 2wd.... seems as though they are difficult to come by or something.... thanks DCF

this is what i was basically looking for.... after days of searching i found 1 pic.... and its not even a trail duster.... its a ramcharger.... lol

traildusters in general dont seem to exist much...what year is the one your looking at?...as best ive seen ive only come across 2 2wd's made between 74-80 and 3 from 80-death.....and i spent 10 years looking for a rust free body and crack free frame

the one im picking up is a ???? i dunno i have to call the guy and ask.... i looked at the truck, saw it was a full pop-top and fell in love.... went to his house to check out a 67 dart and ended up makin a deal for the trail duster and a 78 d100 ext cab short bed.... the d100 is gonna be a donor truck ( motor - 360, trans 4spd with granny low, and rear 9.25 with a 3.55 sure grip.... as well as clutch pedals and other things i may need to finish the trailduster....) and both trucks for only 900.... not too shabby

you sure the TD/RC is 2wd and not FULLTIME 4wd since it seems that most were full time EG no hubs sticking out of the wheel

yeah its a 2wd.... the guy who owned it before used it as a drag truck.... had a 440 in it.... and it's a 76.... as soon as it hits the yard ill post pics....

will 76 exempt you from some of the licensing hassles? Sounds like a fun one.

convertible big block(edit: errr 360) what's not to love?

well i can put QQ plates (classic) on it.... so no inspection or at least no emissions testing.... and yes... a big block is the desired motor for said application.... looking at one right now out of a 78 motorhome....

If you QQ it, there is no inspection at all, the fee is like $40.00 lifetime ( you do need to renew every three years without additional fees) You will be limited to milage, and if you get caught using it as a daily driver MVC will revoke the registration and QQ plates. They will need pics of it from every angle ( and probably a pic of the guy who put gas in it on the assembly line) they will want etchings and pics of the vin, you do need to carry basic insurance, does not need to be antique insurance, just basic liability. the only up side to QQ's is the inspection exemption. If you get stopped by the "man" they can do a roadside inspection ( they're always fun).

hmmm.... i need to rethink this.... maybe ill just get vanity plates and antique insurance.... i dunno yet....

Antique insurance is cheaper but again there are certain drawbacks...
Most antique insurance companies limit mileage, and most require indoor storage. A block building will provide lower rates than a wooden frame structure.
