That's cool. My wife would be jealous. The birds around here never do anything like that.
We feed 'em, but mostly the Finches with niger seed. The bluejays and cardinals get fed by the backyard neighbors.
If we put out peanuts, we'd have all of the gazillion squirrels in the neighbourhood converge at once.
When we moved in, there was a black walnut tree on the front lawn. It's gone now, but they used to come to the spot where it was and look around with a WTF? look.
Now, the cable lines running on the poles along the back of the property are like a freeway for them. That and my fence.
Almost every house behind me has some sort of tasty treat tree for squirrels.
I'm looking for a good feeder solution for the birds that will keep the squirrels out. Leevalley.com seems to have some good ideas, but I'm still looking around for more ideas.
