EVs are ugly?

I haven’t seen many that I really like, to be honest.
They are a couple that I kinda like but it takes throwing all in with a “high tech” look that is not reallly my thing, despite the beanie.

I’ll take this kinda ugly.
Yeah, it’s just a concept rendering, but at least it’s not from some guy on the Internet. It’s from the source.
If they put out something close to this, I think they’ll do well.

EV feasibility aside, one of the biggest issues I’ve had besides range, is the styling and I’m not a fashion hound.

im 110% with you...while i have been inside a moving tesla and all over the cut away and unassembled demos..i have to admit they are a pretty wild piece of kit..just...the bodys gross( i want a wrecked one to put under my a-108)
the "rivan" pickups on the other hand have my attention, they have some style that even breaks the typical lost in the sea of trucks mold that makes it pretty cool...theres a handfull of em around here and they are EASY to spot...i gotta admit..i dig em

I'll say I'm not a fan of the styling of most EV vehicles, but I do like this render. But the EV characteristics and real world performance in the North would make most of them untenable for every day use....at least for 6-7 months out of the year.

It's not bad, but it's a concept, so no worries. They'll add two doors and make it much worse. The LED-based front lighting really detracts from the look of the car, but LED DRLs are today's tail fins, so there's little hope that, uh, "feature" would disappear.

...800V Banshee propulsion system...
Interesting name choice, not only for being a direct lift from Pontiac's longtime use of "Banshee" for concept cars, but because a banshee wail foretells death.

Thank God for digital audio... it would've been horribly embarrasing to have your CD-based exhaust sounds skip mid-accelaration. What a joke.

Translation: "We can't believe it took us this long to remember it, but we're ready to whore that too!"

They have a functioning unit - enough to drive on stage and outside the show, at least.
There's an Instagram post of it outside.

Not sure that I like the rev sound though.

Not gonna lie...kind of wanted to punch him in the face a little bit.

Sounds like some interesting prototype tech and could, if it makes it to production, create an interesting car and driving experience.

Now that I've seen it in unforgiving light, that car is downright hideous.

The simulated exhaust noise is gayer than RuPaul's hairdresser.

but just think of the hilarity of sounds you could put to the exhaust.....or.....hack into someone elses.....

Thank God for golf carts. All they needed to do was add a minimal exoskeleton to a Club Car from which they could hang fiberglass panels. It's not like anyone expected a running internal combustion engine, or a highway-speed demonstration.

The profile of the car essentially proves that it will be a 4-door should it see daylight in this shape. The quarter glass is oversized, ungainly and awkward--but perfectly shaped to accomodate a rear door once the front door is shortened.

That was some next-level whoring of musclecar heritage. Sorry, but the people that build Chrysler products now were building Topolinos when Hemis and Six Packs pounded Woodward. They didn't get it then and weren't a part of it. These are the same people that thought making Ram a separate marque was a good idea.

sad to say doc..your half right...except they were a glint in their pappys eye at the time if they were lucky to have even been born...todays designers are young and are lucky if they are old enough to have SEEN a K car never mind seeing anything beyond a bellybutton muscle car

were in the generation of the kids who grew up in the 90s so look at those cars and then compare..and well..now youve got a car that actualy ozzes cool when put into that perspective
im not found of it by no means but im keeping close eyes on the electirc world cause sooner or later im going to build electric..and there are some "cues" that are kinda cool

while the hate to the halo grill ring imo its a clever nod to the full face chrome bumper that glistened the same way

and the ass is straight up a "lit" version of a 69 barracuda
