Engine porn.

I love it! Most people go for the big cubes or a screaming small block. Not many tackle the leaning tower of power. The road less traveled is sometimes a breath of fresh wind.
Reminds me of a shot from the Mopar Nats many moons ago where there were 15 Plum Crazy 1970 'cudas in a row. Hard to get excited over.

if anyone cant take a lil ribbing in stride..grins...

it pretty much looks like the 6 i was starting to build.......and gathered for all i was missing was that valvecover

you guys have to admit..sometimes its the little details that make the world of how something looks

Well - I believe the little band/strap thingy is the factory bracket that holds the hoses away from the engine - just chromed by the owner.

As for the rubber/steel cable clamps, well when I put them on my car, I thought they looked a lot better than the plastic "breadties" the factory used. I'll make sure to remove 'em seeing as they don't meet approval.

I like the bright accents on the hose ends, etc...

I'll also have to remember next time I see the fella who built & owns the car that a guy on the internet thinks he's a woman. :wtf:

Here's a pic of the car the motor resides in. Not many people screwin' around with early A's, much less keepin the /6 in them...that's what drew me to the thing in the first place.

thats a beautifully gen1 fishy..probably one of only 2 cars that come to mind as looking PERFECT with a slanty...the other being the "ugly duckling" valiants

nothing wrong with those rubber clamps so long as you dont have other "high dollar" clamps around them...i used them to hold in my aluminum fuel line to the rails of my cuda....but those wicked sandwich style aluminum units and even the battery hold down all of which are sexy as hell make the rubber clamps stand out like a sore thumb..just a missed attention to detail nothing more still one sexy leaning tower of power

The cost is US $25K including ECU, injectors, flywheel, alternator, dry sump.
It does not include exhaust, clutch or plumbing, as this is about half the cost of the powertec and RST motors. Power is 375hp @10K, torque 210 lb-ft @6500, weight is about 220 lbs as described above

The newest version of the Powertec engine now displaces 2.8 liters and delivers 455 horsepower
The Hayabusa based powerplant, which revs to 10,500 rpm, also delivers 250 foot pounds of torque in a compact package

jeesh, The title is "engine porn" I was comparing the engine to someone on the internets pretending to be a whore, be it a lonely housewife or worse yet a cop.
I give fuckall what one does to their own engine. I'll state my opinion and toddle off.

and my opinion stands yet restated; all the doohickery are distracting my eyes from the beautiful finned valve cover. Instead of a pearl among swine, it's a pearl surrounded by rhinestones and glitter.

Fair enough. I shall post no more pictures lest I distract or otherwise offend the viewer.

All I saw was a thread I started as a fun thing turned to negativity.

I shan't make that mistake again.

holy crap!! i just started reading the posts in this thread

who gives a crap about the correct thing a ma bob in the correct thing a ma jig. Its running. Thats the only point that matters.

now back to the engine porn

You started a fun thread, so stick with it.[smilie=:: Now I need to go find some more engine pics.

I think that slanty is pretty sweet. Perhaps some of the details are not to my personal tastes, but hey it's not my car and I don't want to bash someones pride and joy. Now if the owner asked me for my opinion then fine I would pick it apart, but until that happens all I'll say is it's a sweet little motor.

How about this mopar Hellfire lil Hemi motor used for the land speed attempt at 400mph. Over 1000HP and 660 ftlbs!

dayum out of a 4banger...holy hell thats one MONSTER hairdryer!!!!...intriguing....twin blow off valves? er waste gates...that would be fun to tone down just enuf and dump in the minivan...LOL im just evil

are those vintage formula 1 motors up a few?....it always has intrigued me how the heat is routed as it should be..cold in the side hot out the top...always assumed they lilkely had a reverse rotation starter and cam

The MYT (Massive Yet Tiny) Engine by inventor Raphial Morgado, is an internal combustion engine of new design that features multiple firings in one cycle, producing enormous torque in a small area. With 40 times higher power to weight ratio, low parts count, low maintenance, high mechanical efficiency, and low pollution, the MYT™ Engine will benefit airplane, big ship, 18 wheeler, SUV, passenger car, even down to carry on power generator applications. The MYT™ Engine as a pump/compressor also exceeds existing pumps/compressors in providing massive pressure, volume, and flow, all in one unit.
The first prototype model exerts 850 cubic inches of displacement even though the size is only 14" diameter by 14" long, weighing 150 lbs, compared to 3000 lbs for a comparable engine of conventional size capable of that much power output.
As of Spring 2010, the company is presently working on a 6" diameter motor, which could be built inexpensively by machining, without the cost of casting, for its first beta testing units.
They are also considering a geothermal application of the pump/compressor version of the engine.
On the side, as a hobby, Morgado is pursuing an Angel Flight Pack that would enable personal flight for as long as an hour.

Mind Blowing.
