Engine porn.

Some mopar flathead 6 pics. This is kind of what I'm shooting for with the flatty 6 in the 48 Desoto...minus the tube headers thought, I prefer the cast split manifolds.

This is the head I want to run on my flathead 6....Not a performance piece but I just love the "Spitfire" cast into the head.:)

that is certainly a sweeet head..and im with you on the manifolds..the tube ones almost completly ruin the look of vintage motors unless there in a full on drag car

WOW!!!! 5 flat head six engines all working together to drive that big ol' Sherman tank.....Impressive!!!

lol drop a cyl or 2 and spend a few hours figuring out why after not noticing for a month..still one wicked sexy beast

I love your Magnum SB too Brad, do you have a target hp number for it yet? Dyno? inquiring minds you know...

I did have it on the dyno, but the dyno broke after 4 pulls so we don't know if the #'s are valid or not. Said 379 hp and 412 tq, but no way to know if they are valid or not. Two different dynomation programs say between 430 and 460 hp with 440 to 470 for tq. I'll put it on a chassis dyno once it's done for interest sake.

Man, I love those steam engines. Didn't make it to the Thresher show at Brigden this year.
Nothing like the sound and smell from a steam engine. :)

i was at the international plowing match today.

The threshers were threshing ... the steam engines were steaming and all the old cool tools from farm years past were out on display :)

Here's a couple from Southey this year:

MeThinks the slanty is trying a bit too hard to slut up. Probably a suburban housewife or, ack, a cop.

For me, really the first distraction is at least 2 of the heater hose separators are different, then I'm off to the worm clamp covers.......... what a waste of such a beautifull valve cover.

that lil band strap thingy holding the hoses is a shame...as well as the rubber/steel hoops holding the wireing down(shoulda routed it down along the fenderwell for a cleaner look)..but otherwise thats a beautifull slanty

Geez, you guys are too tough.
When was the last time anyone saw any slant sixes at a car show, let alone a purty little filly like that?

Wonder what it runs like?

I didn't think that we Nuts were like the stuffies at Moparts. So it's got a minorrrrrrrr little thing done to it. That engine is still a thing of beauty in that engine bay.
