I think when it comes to hockey players stats, they should also include how many fights with wins & losses. :D I'm havin hockey withdrawals myself. :(

No guff. I had a long conversation with some guy walking by my house today, just because I spotted the Flyers hat he was wearing.

I don't even like the Flyers, but being hockey starved, any talk was good.

One of my buds has it worse, He's a Sabres guy and has been trying to score tickets to an exibition game coming up in Dundas. So far, no luck.

I spent a fair amount of time & energy yesterday being a bastard about your birthday....:D

Not here as much as I would like for sure - this summer has been um - challenging, between work and helping my Dad out with stuff, there's been little time for any fun stuff..

Hell the engine/trans I bought for this summer are still waiting for installation....hard to do with no weekends.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand: NHL hockey.....

I couldn't agree more with the hockey thing, but you're Canadian. You're expected to be addicted. :D

I have no interest, and have a hard time when someone tells me they like hockey but hate basketball. It's the same game, only hockey's on ice and uses sticks and a puck, and therefore it's tougher to make a goal.

I dunno'. The first thing you gotta do is learn to skate, and skate well (a sport in itself). THEN, you have to learn to play the game, though this point has escaped some of the current highly-paid players.
Isn't B-ball just running and dribbling? Hell, I can do that after a couple beers on my way to the bathroom. :)

Beats the Hell out of football.
 
I don't hate hockey. Just not a big fan of the NHL, where the sport comes second to the spectacle.

I enjoy the hell out of watching the best of the NHL's players actually play the game every 4 years at the olympics. It would be a real drag if they decided not to continue doing that.
 
Oh shit, Happy Belated birthday Jass! I've been kind of busy lately, having lots of sexy time with a rubber fist.

Basketball is boring. It's so boring that I fell asleep at a Grizzlies game, way back when Vancouver had a sad NBA team. One can only watch so many baskets before one wants to claw their own eyes out or fall asleep. Each team scores around 100 points, which is about 50 baskets. How lame is that? Tall black dudes trying not to foul eachother...

It's as boring as baseball.

Football is at least entertaining and physical :dance:
 
Plus you fight in basketball, it gets broken up rather quickly. Any goof can play basketball! In hockey, granted they are cracking down on the fights lately (LAME) but man, the ones they let happen are GOOD! :D Then there's the goalies meeting center ice, the bench clearing brawls, etc... Basketball is a higher scoring game but it's no where near as entertaining as hockey! ;)
 
Yeah well - the fighting is a big part of the reason I wait for every 4 years to watch hockey at the olympics. The increase in fighting and cheap shots is part of what has taken the game far from being "sport."

Watching idiots beat the shit out of each other is something I'm forced to watch at many gigs I do - I prefer not to watch it during my leisure time.
