Fishy

Omnipotent Seaweasel
Was a rather interesting night at work! My asst. manager and I had decided to stay late and finish freight since we have our DM's inspection tomorrow and annual inventory the next day. We get about 10 minutes from clocking out and going home aaaaaaand...... well, let's just say that didn't happen! :D Drunk chick in a Dodge Ram takes a corner to hard or something...who knows.... and Scott and I hear this incredibly LOUD CRASH in the store. I come running around the corner and see her truck just about IN our store and I jump through where a window USED to be to get her plate number. She hit reverse and got the hell out of there. I watched her go up the road and take a right on hwy 26 west-bound and called the cops. They nailed her and she confessed. Nothing too impressive but, here's pics:

(It's worth mentioning that where she hit, I'd been standing in exactly that spot in the store about 10-15 minutes prior. Really glad I wasn't there when she hit!!!) The bent post is what stopped her truck. In one of the pics you can see a tire mark as well as her paint on the light pole to the left. Under a pile of glass on the right in the same pic is the other tire mark. She hit the pole pretty much dead center with her truck.

Fishy....glad to hear you werent still standing there checkin the stock on the desoto fel-pro valve cover gaskets when she blew in!! you know its surprising to me how many people try to take down buildings with their cars? kinda like birds I suppose?.. see their own reflection and try to tangle!?...wham! out cold! lol! last summer where my wife works during the summer (school teacher during the rest of the year) a lady jumped the curb went through a brick wall ,curb, glass and drove right into the store! all with no room to get a run at it just from parking space, floor boarded through building! lol geesh! then last week at the grocery store where my daughter works and old man jumped a foot high curb come through a brick short wall and window! luckly the beer cooler stopped him! "point"!... "Budweiser"! lmao! crazy ass people!! glad everyones ok there!!

my wifes workplace last summer! loliphone1 095.jpg

those brick"short wall" setups are WEAK as hell..all of the 7-11s around here did away with them first chance they got...the flor to roof glass units out here are heavily ancord into everything and really designed to STOP things from coming in...as fishys store proved lol

Fishy's store is short-wall, and it seemed pretty obvious to me that that's what stopped the truck as the window frame obviously didn't.

It's a short-wall construction. With the short front overhang of the Ram and the pictures posted it's obvious the window beam didn't stop the truck, the wall did. Also, it's pretty obvious she wasn't going all that fast when she hit it.

It also looks like she hit the brakes right around the time the windows were exploding. :D

Killercuda's picture is a top-to-bottom glass construction; it didn't work out as well. They never do.
