the obvious is..its a VW burried deep under all that plastic, but id LOVE to know what the kit is/was

ive never seen anything like it and quite honestly i dig the shit out of it and it was TINY like ive seen manx's and all sorts of odd kits but this thing was F1 low drag your ass across a speedbump

as someone whos spent 43 years on motorcycles...eating bugs is part of life LOL..its the mosquitos in the eyeball that suck!..well and the feeling of spiderwebs and a spider wlaking across your face..but thats more of a dirt bike problem


but yeah it looks like a riot, id love to see what they originaly were sold to look like, as i suspect it probably had rear wheel covers?,,,,i can only assume and im not sold that the front beam is bug..it looks.."off"

There was a short article in Hot VWs or VW Trends about it years ago... like a "I found this in the neighbourhood" kind of article.
Those must be pretty hefty spacers for the rear wheels!
That is most definately not a VW front axle beam...

And, I bet it's a blast to drive through and out of the corners!

The back half has a lot of Ford T roadster DNA in it, but the first thing I noticed was the "most definitely not a VW" front axle. That looks street-rod-ish as well. There's been more recent work done, since the LED headlights are definitely not of the era when it was originally... what's the word I'm looking for here... hallucinated? Conceived? Aborted?

agreed doc theres a TON of T in the back that i could do without but at the same time, you gotta cover up the bug engine while leaving room for everything and make a wall for the seats..to which in theory it could have seated 4
best guess is it either had coyote type clear ccovers up front or pop ups and some nimrod placed LED things in the empty holes

the 60s 70s and 80s were wild with glass kits for bug chassis and some even supplied "parts" so maybe that front end is/was part of the kit

id really love to find out what it looked like in its glory days
