Ack! Just spent a bundle on inferior tires...

"inferior tires", as in Bias-Plys that is! Goodyear Speedway F70-14 redlines, reasonably priced at $170/Each. The Green Monster is getting back from paint very soon, and this is a car that has never even had any radials mounted on those stock steel rims.
The pic below shows the 1970's era Polyglas GT OWL tires that were installed on her in 1978...

Someone was telling me just recently that the repop version of those are actually very good at hooking up.

As expensive as they are, and with no real hope of any meaningful traction, spinning them is the LAST thing I would try to do. I do have a set of vintage Indy mags; 15x8.8 and 14x7" that will be used for any "acceration testing" that may occur :)

There's nothing like the look of a Polyglas. I think we have a couple vintage (crappy) ones lying around that were on our '73 Satellite.

they had that square look to the sides and the tread didnt show on the sides. clean looking tires --- what happened? :(
